Participants: 100 Cheyenne and Sioux raiding local ranches
Cheyenne and Sioux warriors raided all up and down the valley of the South Platte. Sarah Morris and her two young sons were taken captive while the rest of the men were killed. The younger son was later killed. At the ruins of the ranch, 7 whites and 3 Indians were dead.
