Location of Battle: Near Greenhorn Mountain north of the New Mexico Border



Participants: Anza leading Spanish Lancers and civilian militianmen against Chief Cuerno Verde of the Comanche

Anza set a trap for Cuerno Verde but the Comanches didn't show up.  Anza began moving forward when the Comanches charged the force of 600 Spanish.  Chief Cuerno Verde was forced into an arroyo and was killed.
